Teochew Roots Journey
Roots Journey
For over a century, Teochew people sailed to Southeast Asia and beyond. Today, more and more descendants overseas wish to return to the land their families left. The roots journey is the service we care about most.
A roots journey is not ordinary travel. It begins with fragments from elders' memories — a village name, a generational character, a dialect pronunciation, an old remittance letter or a faded photograph. Our work is turning those fragments into a road you can walk.
Before departure, we review your family information against local gazetteers and genealogy records to narrow down the ancestral village. During the trip, a local guide accompanies village visits, helps contact village committees and clan members, and assists with clan-hall ceremonies.
We understand the emotional weight of this journey. Whether we find the exact ancestral house or only the approximate village, we accompany the whole process with patience and respect.
