FAQ

Route FAQs

About traveling in Chaoshan and our services

I don't know which village my family came from — can you help trace it?+

Yes. Share your surname, hall name, ancestor names or an old address before the trip and we will do an initial round of research.

Do we need to contact relatives in the village ourselves?+

No. We accompany you on the visit and handle communication, including arranging contact with the village committee and clan members.

What should we prepare for the ancestor ceremony, and how are its costs handled?+

We explain the offerings and etiquette in advance and help prepare them. Offerings and incense are billed at actual cost, separately.

Can we bring elderly parents and children?+

Yes. The pace is slowed for older travellers, and the route suits multi-generation families.
